Milan offers much variety for the visitor with some amazing architecture such as the Duomo, it's elegant Gothic Cathedral, many attractive piazzas and little cobbled backstreets with friendly bars and restaurants and of course the best designer shopping you could ever wish for. As the fashion capital of Italy all the best designer shops are here in the fashion quadrilateral which includes the Via Montenapolene ( or Montenapo as the locals call it) and the Vias Mazoni,Sant Andrea and Della Spiga. Here you will find labels such as Prada,Gucci,Armani,Moshino and Fendi and if you cannot afford the prices just enjoy the window shopping and people watching -and you never know who you might spot ! This whole area will have its off-shoots also with more affordable stores and boutiques. If you would like to visit a shopping outlet this can also be arranged as a day trip. |
| Don't Miss |
The city offers a range of cultural interest with many galleries, some housing some of the most famous paintings in the world. The most popular painting being Leonardo's Last Supper which can be found in the little Dominican refectory. The city's Duomo is certainly worth a visit, dating back to 1386 and having taken six centuries to complete, is rather impressive. It has 52 columns and fabulous 15th century stained glass windows. The Duomo is open daily and with excellent views from its roof terrace over central Milan it is definitely a must ! From here you are just a short walk away through the Galleria to La Scala, the famous opera house where you will most likely see the masses queuing in anticipation. |

Most of our hotels offer spa facilities, in particular the Westin Palace can be recommended or we have specialist spa breaks at the Principe Di Savoia. |
| Wine and Dine |
As in any city there is a tremendous choice of bars, clubs and restaurants. In the Galleria off the Piazza del Duomo you will find the restaurant Biffi amongst others and this is an ideal location for a spot of lunch. In the Brera area which is the delightful artistic quarter with its cobbled streets, you will find the restaurant "Nabucco" (Via Fiori Chiari) which is small, cosy and friendly and serves the most delicious fresh pasta dishes. Many of the restaurants also offer a "Happy Hour" which is where instead of getting reduced priced drinks they instead serve the Italian equivalent of Tappas which can be a very pleasant start to an evening out. For the nightclub and bar areas you need to find yourselves in the Navigli (Canal area) or Corso Como areas where you will find such clubs as "Casablanca", "Hollywood", "Tocq Ville", and "Lulapaloosa". |
| Days Out |
| The outlet shopping is an ideal excursion to arrange for one of your days in Milan or you might want to visit more than one depending on the length of your stay. If you are staying in the area for a decent stretch then it is also possible to visit the lakes such as Lake Como which is within an hour's train journey, making it possible to visit as a day trip. We do however feel that the city of Milan has more than enough to do and explore in itself.
